"Springtime 2005 heralded the arrival of an idea to develop a professional website which would further my natural interest in the keeping of the koi carp, an ornamental fish from Japan. Whilst possessing a basic competence in computing, my knowledge of website construction was very poor, hence, the idea was born with some trepidation as I would be reliant on the guidance of a website design company of whom I had no previous experience. The website was to be run as a business and needed to offer an appearance, ease of use and construction to offer a professional image.
I approached a number of website design companies with a basic idea about the general site layout and functionality. Replies ranged all the way from “Sorry we are not familiar with database driven websites” to “Yes no problem, but we may need to contract out some elements of the build”. Prices were also extremely variable with the cheapest being an estimate from Fearntech. I have always been someone that values quality over cost, hence, I wasn’t looking to go with the cheapest figure and as such treated the Fearntech estimate with some concern, believing that I would be likely to receive an inferior service. I have a critical eye and high standards and believe attention to detail to be very important. Having spoken to three companies on the telephone I was convinced to meet up with Paul Fearn to discuss the website idea in more detail and to ascertain whether Fearntech had the skills to deliver what I had in mind at the suggested price.
Well, I have never been one to exaggerate but I can say with all honesty that if someone asked me to recommend a website design company I would not hesitate to recommend Fearntech. I have not been disappointed nor had reason for any complaint about their work. Customer communication was excellent, the desire to do a professional job obvious and the result has been a website which is beyond what I had originally envisaged. Minor operational problems have been dealt with quickly and the site is now attracting an increasing amount of traffic. Lastly and perhaps most important is that a quality website was delivered within the estimated price without any compromise on the original idea."
