Some useful UNIX commands

 

 

Change password - passwd
Show current directory - pwd
Make new directory - mkdir
Delete a file - rm
Delete a directory and subdirectories - rm -r mydir
Copy directories and subdirectories - cp -r mydir newlocation/dir

manually run jobs - at
see list of jobs - at -l
delete a job (get jobid from list of jobs) - at -r jobid

Example script for batch job
# Paul Fearn 12/6/03 - run datafile date checking utility every day
at now tomorrow < .rundtcheck
sas /Volumes/app/datecheck.sas
